Mothers and Fathers Days Outreach Project

The Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day outreach project takes place May and June respectively each year, beginning in the 2014 - 2015 Rotary Year.

 

On both days, the Rotary Club of Barbados South (RCBS) honours 10 mothers and 10 fathers from across the island. Names are put forward by club members of individuals across the Island deemed worthy of this honour.  Club members contribute towards the cost of the hampers which are presented to the mothers and fathers on their special day.

 

The hampers contain groceries, other household items along with some personal care items.  The hampers are packaged along with a greeting card from RCBS.

 

When the project started, RCBS took responsibility for buying the items, organising, and packaging the hampers, and delivering them on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  In more recent times, the club makes arrangements to have the hampers prepared by a business, RCBS members then collect and deliver to the recipients.
