Pictured above are some of the highlights captured by our members during the recently concluded District 7030 Conference in Grenada. From all reports they all had a good time while sharing memorable experiences with other Rotarians around the district.
Congratulations to PP Captain Randolph and Cheryl who tied the knot on April 15th, 2023. Wishing you many blissful years ahead on your new chapter together.
Pictured above is our Rtn. Susanna (right) with Sgt Maj. Johnson Beharry, recipient of the Victoria Cross for bravery in the face of adversity. Sgt Maj. Johnson Beharry is a Grenadian who was honoured by the British Army and was bestowed a PHF by District Governor Leslie during District Conference 2023.

For centuries, the Yörük people of southern Turkey have trekked up and down the rugged Taurus Mountains. When the hot Mediterranean summer begins to dry out the vegetation that feeds their sheep and goats, Yörük families migrate with their animals to the grassy highlands. Then, just before the first snows, they return to spend the cooler season farming in the coastal plains. They eat what they grow, and at outdoor markets, they sell honey, goat milk and cheeses, livestock, and the bright wool kilim rugs they make.

The Rotary Club of Barbados believes that every child needs a champion and has been the children’s champion for over 60 years.  The Club believes in developing the next generation of leaders and our many programs help younger leaders build leadership skills, expand education, and learn the value of service.

These programmes span across Early Act for Primary aged children, Interact for secondary school children and Rotaract Clubs for the tertiary level and young professionals.

The Earth Day event hosted by The Rotaract Club of South Barbados was truly enlightening as we learnt the value of investing in Our Planet.

Interactors, Rotaractors and Rotarians toured the Walkers Reserve on 23rd April 2023, one of Barbados' unique and valuable sites. The project not only commemorated Earth Day but coincided with Rotary's Environment Month!

Tree planting, a tour of the mangroves and an informative session on wetlands were highlights of today's activities. We all have a role to play in investing in our planet.

Thank you to our sponsors Barbados Environmental Conservation Trust, Archipelagic and Island States Forum and Walkers Institute for Regenerative Research, Education and Design for making this initiative a success.
