Club Meeting 18th January Recap
On January 18th, Rtn Dion Franklin gave a brief history of his personal life and professional career during his Banking and Finance Classification Talk.
The 43 year old Virgo works for Scotiabank (Barbados) Limited, one of the top three commercial banks on the island in terms of deposits and assets. He grew up in Edgecumbe St. Philip with five siblings (one brother and four sisters) but now lives in Southview, Christ Church with his wife Tanisha (also a Banker), two sons (Joshua and Jonathan) and daughter Rhylee. He has a BSc Management (Hons) from the University of the West Indies and an MBA
in Finance (Dist.) from the University of Leicester. In addition...

Fellow Rotarians! Yes! It has been confirmed! Jennifer Jones, Rotary International’s first female president has included our beloved Barbados in her tour of duty in February 2023.
She will be our featured guest speaker at a Dinner being hosted by the Rotary Clubs in Barbados to celebrate 118 years of Rotary International, at Mahogany Ridge, St James, February 23rd at 6:00pm. All are invited!
This is an occasion that is not to be missed and we look forward to enjoying it with you!

Stephanie Urchick, member of the Rotary Club of McMurray, PA, USA, will become the second woman to take office as president of Rotary International on 1 July 2024.
During her one-year term, Urchick will lead the global service organization in adapting its systems and structures to enable Rotary’s 1.4 million members in 200 countries and regions to deliver impactful and lasting solutions to the continued challenges facing the world today in a more efficient and regionally effective manner.
The 2023 District Conference will be held in Grenada from April 13th - 15th. It is recommended that you register early and take advantage of the early bird rates as preferential rates have been secured with some hotels. Book early because rooms will fill up quickly!
The Hosting Organizing Committee has been working diligently to ensure our 2023 District Conference is all you expect and more!!!
The Rotaract Clubs of Barbados met up last Sunday for Life’s a Beach, a joint fellowship Beach lime at Worthing Beach. On the agenda was fun, fellowship and food; all objectives were achieved!

Early Saturday morning on the 28th January, Rotaractors of Barbados and Barbados South clubs were expressing their creative sides through the painting of a classroom at the Eden Lodge Primary School. This community service activity sought to revamp the space through an accent mural around the room and an impressive, uplifting rainbow on the rear wall.
