Three (3) rural schools were chosen from St. Thomas including Hillaby-Turner’s Hall Primary, Holy Innocents Primary and the Lester Vaughn School Secondary. This selection was strategic as rural schools are often overlooked for intervention activities. An additional grant of up to $100,000 BDD may be made available by the GEF SGP to undertake the identified developmental work at these schools.

However, prior to this application, RCBS must fulfil the requirements stipulated by the GEF SGP, including the execution of a Grant Writing Workshop. Ms. Clarke gave a brief overview of the stipulated topics including:
  • Introduction to Proposal Writing,
  • Keys to Success, Measurement,
  • Monitoring and Evaluation,
  • Budgeting
  • Matching Contributions,
  • Stakeholder Inputs
  • Agreements
  • Attachments,
  • Review,
  • Proposals
  • Submissions.
There will be a series of sessions during the month of February to achieve these objectives and all interested Rotarians are encouraged to participate to ensure their success.
