Rotary Fellowship! The three incoming presidents for the Rotary year 2023-24 are certainly off to a good start! Seen above from left are PE Marcel Murrell (RCBS), PE Gail Reeves (RCBW) and PE Ermine Darroux-Francis (RCB).
The article above was taken from the Nation Newspaper on March 11th. It provides additional media coverage of the RI President Jennifer Jones' visit and the projects viewed while she was here. The picture highlighted in the article shows some of the Rotarians, Interactors, and The Queen's College Principal Dr. Browne who attended the RCBS' unveiling of the Peace Pole at The Queen's College as the first project of the tour.

Gbowee had lived in a refugee camp, worked as a counselor for child soldiers, and led a nonviolent peace movement that played a pivotal role in ending a bloody 14-year period of civil war in Liberia. But still, they asked her, “What’s next?” “

My answer was simple,” she recalls. “Duh, I just won the Nobel Peace Prize. I’m going to retire at 39. They said, ‘No, you’re still young. Think.’ The only thing I could think about in that moment was girls and education.”

Rotaract Club of South Barbados
World Rotaract Week is an annual celebration of the success and importance of Rotaract in communities worldwide. Join us from March 12 - 18, 2023, to connect with others and share in our celebrations.

During the week, the four (4) Rotaract Clubs on the island will focus on peacebuilding and conflict prevention, promoting and sensitizing our members and the general public on peace, and the importance of conflict resolution, particularly in our youth. For peace to be sustained, we need to work together as one. As such, we will seek to partner with other youth-led action and service organizations to promote this message.
A Peace pole is an internationally recognized symbol for Peace on Earth and is highly appropriate structure to be placed in a school environment to foster and encourage peace building among youth in Barbados. As such the Rotaract Clubs of Barbados will be unveiling a Peace Pole at the St. Michael School on Wednesday, 15th March, 2023 during World Rotaract Week. We need your support in this venture and request a financial donation towards the worthy cause. Please give generously!
Join us for the Rota-lympics Games Night on Saturday, March 18th from 5:00PM at The Oasis, Kendal Hill, Christ Church. We look forward to your support as we celebrate World Rotaract Week.
