This joint club meeting was held at the 3W's oval and constituted the final fellowship of the 5280 humanitarian visit. A week of cooperation and collaboration columnated in this evening of fellowship.
Rotarians from all 3 clubs as well as the visiting Rotarians expressed their gratitude for the manner in which the week was planned, managed and executed.
We were able to learn that district 5280 operates primarily through global grant funding for humanitarian projects. They visit countries in Latin America and the Caribbean where they fund and participate in the local projects. The visit to Barbados constitutes the 23rd humanitarian visit over a period of 24 years, interrupted for only 1 year during covid.
We were able to learn that Barbados was selected as the location for this humanitarian visit based on our contributions to their district while they battled wild fires. In the words of the 5280 District Governor "as we unite across borders with one Rotary spirit, let us keep building, serving and growing together."
