Inspirational
“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve…You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Club Meeting Recap - 3rd May
On May 3rd, Rtn. Jamalia Wyllie gave members a very thorough overview of her personal, academic and professional life along with the journey from Rotaract to Rotary during her Classification Talk.
"With two very peculiar names you can imagine that I have been dealing with mispronunciation and misspellings my entire life. The name Jamalia has an Arabic and African origin which means beautiful."
Pictured above are some highlights from our club meeting which took place on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 at the PomMarine Hotel.

Fellow Rotarians, after two years of 'lockdowns' and echoes of 'unprecedented times', the Summer Luau Cruise is BACK!
Saturday, May 20th at 5PM onboard the MV Dream Chaser
General tickets are $80 and could be ordered by contacting a number below:
Your usual support in spreading the word and promoting the cruise would be appreciated as the proceeds of the Summer Luau Cruise goes towards the club's Back to School project.

A seasoned runner might take water and protein bars on a long training run, but girls and women in Afghanistan consider other equipment more essential: knuckle dusters or pepper spray, so that when anybody comes close, they can demonstrate they have something to defend themselves. It’s one of the startling details in a 2019 documentary about female runners in the deeply conservative nation.
Rotary believes in developing the next generation of leaders.
Youth programs are designed to build leadership skills, expand education and learn the value of service.

The Rotaract Club of South Barbados partnered with the Thrift Club of Barbados Public Workers Co-Operative Credit Union to share lessons in financial literacy at Rotaract Reading Room last Saturday.
The eager readers were in for a special treat as they toured the Belmont Road Branch and learnt the operations of the credit union after an interactive session of reading “Thrifty Saves the Day”.
