Vocational Service Awardees 2020 with President Brian
The Rotary Club of Barbados South (RCBS) Vocational Service Awards Dinner was held at the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa on Wednesday 26th Feb 2020,  against the background that the RCBS presents awards annually to three persons who have achieved high levels of excellence in their vocations, have exemplified outstanding professional achievement, and through such vocations have rendered outstanding service to the Barbadian community while maintaining very high ethical standards.
This year’s awardees were three deserving citizens of Barbados - Ms Marilyn Rice Bowen for her outstanding contribution towards the transformation of the lives of women facing violence, as well as influencing governments to establish the legislative framework to combat this violence; Mr Peter Edey for his sustained contribution to the promotion of Barbadian cuisine which has generated a resurgence of pride in indigenous foods and the cooking methods that make them unique; and Mr Patrick Frost for his selfless labour in the trade union movement, and his outstanding contribution to the profession of teaching in Barbados.
The feature speaker for the function was Senator the Honourable Lucille Moe.
The Awards function was planned and executed by the Service Projects Committee led by President Elect Michael Forde, ably assisted by Club Administration Director Nigel Adams, PP Randolph Straughan and Rotarian Glyne Husbands.
